The Exploitation:

On 20 hectares of clay-limestone soils, including 15 hectares in the Corbières Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée, no fewer than 10 grape varieties coexist in Villemagne, planted according to the nature of the soils and the micro-climatic characteristics of each plot: Carignan, Syrah, Grenache noir, Cinsault, Merlot, Marselan, Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache blanc, Floreal.

Part of the vines are located around the Château, the other part is planted on a rocky plateau at the place called "La Coque".

The winemaking, after manual harvests, is done in the Château cellar. (Villemagne was once a Gallo-Roman villa before becoming a possession of the Abbey of Lagrasse)

Our mission:

We will tell you about the history of the region, the remains discovered on the site (Gallo-Roman site, Roman amphorae and tiles, prehistoric objects: flint, arrowheads, polished axes, Greek and Roman coins, etc.), vines, winemaking (aging cellar in oak barrels) and you can also discover exhibitions of paintings, sculptures and photographs in July and August.
At Château Villemagne, our roots in the country are our strength.
We are proud to continue the work of 6 generations of winegrowers.
We also feel responsible for the management of an estate where each vine reveals to us, when ploughed, many vestiges of past millennia.

But our greatest passion is the daily work, in the vineyard and in the cellar.

Company Profile :

We produce our wines using traditional methods.
We want them to be strongly marked by this terroir, vinified without artifice, aged for a long time in our cellar.
Oenologists have expertly described them, revealing multiple aromas: truffle, grapefruit, jasmine, vanilla...
They are powerful, generous, very personalized.
The reds are made for cooking Languedoc sauces rich in pepper, spices and garrigue plants. They love wild boar stews and other game.
Our whites and our rosé, the Gransol and the Carthagène are produced in the same spirit.
We practice traditional agriculture that respects the environment, we process our products ourselves and guarantee the development of healthy and natural foods while respecting authentic flavors.
